Tastes Evolving??

Visiting Singapore about 2 years ago, I remember a nice and clean city that for the most part was not to exciting. This was the main reason I wasn’t planning on returning this time around. Drawn to the city by the vast more options in my search for a camera I can take diving with me, I was surprised how much I enjoyed my visit.

After months of not knowing where you are, and/or how to get to where you want, It was a nice change to step into the familiar city of Singapore. What surprised me was just how much I really enjoy this city. The shopping is amazing, food is fantastic, and the city is quite a good looking city.

Lets start with the shopping. Malls are everywhere, shopping is abundant, and choice is endless. Anything you want you can find. You might even find a whole mall dedicated to it. On my hunt to find a diving camera, I stumbled into a store that specialized in underwater photography. So hopefully if I don’t suck you’ll see the results of this purchase within a couple months.

Food. Food food food food food. Cheap eats are at a heads turn. These “food malls” are everywhere, serving up tasty simple Chinese classics. $3 is usually all you need to fill the hunger gap. The best way I can describe it is, If HONS was a city, it would be Singapore. (well on the food comparison, not cleanliness)

As for the city itself, it sparkles. Boasting to be the cleanest city alive, the architecture complements the skyline. I visited their newly finished Marina Bay Sands hotel. The first of its kind. Three towers with a deck spanning atop the three towers. Infinity pools overlook the city from 57 floors up. Truly an amazing sight. The best way I can describe it is, if I was a city, I would be Singapore. (well on good looks, not cleanliness)

HA!

  1. Glad this visit was enjoyable! Did you get an ice cream sandwich from the little cart guys? Dustin will be excited to hear about the hotel – he watched a show on Discovery like “Biggest Hotel Builds” or something like that – that showed the process. Man Singapore food just makes me hungry to think of it!
