Sorry I’ve fallen off the grid again, but once again I’m on an Island which has no internet access. Well that’s a lie, there is internet but its so expensive, so tough luck for you.  So here is a quick update on what I’ve been up to the last month.

Imagine wavy lines and blurry vision as we back up in time.

I’ve had my first visitor from home! Great to see another friendly face after a long stint of being on my own. So it was back off to Thailand. Arriving in Phuket I met Becca, and headed toward Kata Beach. Nice place but compared to some beach’s I’ve seen…..meh. Becca was impressed though so I’m sure that’s what I would feel if I wasn’t spoiled by my current life. Though I did get to see a baby elephant play a harmonica. That’s different.

It was then off to Patong Beach then Phi Phi Island then back to Patong Beach. Phi Phi was nice but way to touristy. It goes the same for most of the “famous” attractions to see there. Mostly beaches such as the one from “The Beach” or one from a James Bond film. Beautiful beach? Yes, though only if they were as remote as those movies. With the amount of people on them it can just be any other beach.

In Patong, we caught “Simons Cabaret”. One of the most famous shows in the phuket area. Quite clever I do have to say, and even if you don’t enjoy the music you can keep yourself entertained just by asking yourself, “Is that a boy or girl?”

After Becca left it was off to my home for the next little while. Mabul island. I’m starting my Dive Master training. Life here is, well like life on most small islands. Diving in the day, party at night. It’s a hard life I know, but I’ll do it so you don’t have to.
