adminFinally I have had some time to actually relax. This is what vacations are about. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy seeing new cities and the sites that they have to offer, but you as well need some down time. After that trek up the mountain, I think I earned this break.
I enjoyed a couple days in the jungle at one of the nicest “hostels” I’ve been to so far. Just a great vibe to the place and near what I’m here to see. Orangutans! I love these monkeys.
What I was more looking forward to though was getting back into the water. I had a dive trip booked, my “splurge” for this whole trip. The location, Layang-Layang. It is an island north of Borneo. Literally the only thing on this island is this resort and a Malaysian navy base. The plane to get here is the smallest thing I have ever been on. No more than 16 seats, yet probably the smoothest take off and landing of any plane I’ve been on. Not too shabby.
Here the rooms are nice, 5 square meals a day, and dive, dive, dive. What is so special about this location? Big stuff, like Hammer Head Sharks, Rays, Dolphins, etc. All of which I wasn’t disappointed in seeing. Beautiful. Just beautiful. Sorry about the quality of the diving pictures. They aren’t of my own but are from my dive trip. You even come back to the room with “towel art”. Who says they don’t try?

Wow, who knew camera phones worked underwater? Crazy. For the record Becca, you DO flip over backwards into the water. Lukie’s just eaten enough over the first leg of his trip to make his belly weigh as much as the tank & gear on his back, so he can jump in any which way he wants (it’s all about balance baby!). You know us Suens, always trying to be different.
