New Life Begins…..

So after a week detour to the sister resort in Bunaken. I finally have arrived “home”, for the next year anyways. I’ve had a chance to unpack and make my room my own for now.

Matt and Dani, my new bosses, have been very kind in trying to make sure everything went smoothly and i’m sorted. Though this is quite isolated and there are few people here to socialize with, there is one thing that makes it all worth while. Today was my first two dives here so far and it solidifies the reason i’m here, mini critters.

Muck diving is a very unique type of diving and isn’t something that many people like. Face in the sand looking for things that may be 1-2mm big, moving slower than a drunk snail, staring at what seems to be a dirty empty wasteland. Fun Right?? But when your eyes adjust, or someone just points something out, presuming you don’t need a magnifying glass to see it, the weird and wonderful appear. Not that this means anything to non-divers really but these little critters are so rare and very sought after for photographers and divers alike. So seeing that i’m both, this is amazing ……
