Tally Ho

Well after a long search, acquiring a vehicle has been completed! After about a month and a half of sitting around looking for a suitable mobile residence, the search has been somewhat satisfied with this 2000 Mitsubishi Pajero. Alterations have been made and living supplies purchased and AWAY we go! There are a few bits and pieces that hopefully will be added along the way, but for now VRRROOOOOMMMM- VRROOOOOMMM.

So that was completed about a week ago. I Actually left Melbourne Monday 16th, Soooo lets get you up to speed. In that time I have traveled along the coast, Great Ocean Road, up through and around Kangaroo Island and now am in Adelaide.

The coastline is just a picturesque view of beaches, rocky cliffs, surfing paradises, and little sleepy towns. Spending a couple days enjoying the sights, not to mention the local wildlife, camping as night falls and crusing as the sun rises. Not sure what I was thinking when I decided it was a good idea to tent in winter (5ish deg at night) but, meh, MAN UP! There definitely are perks to traveling in off seasons everywhere, mainly no one around!

Kangaroo Island was next on the list (a list that is being created as I arrive per destination). This place is everything once could ask for from Australia. If you can go one place in Oz for natureish stuff, this is it. I might be a bit preemptive in saying that due to the fact that I haven’t seen any other part of this country, but when I find a better place I’ll retract that statement. So again covered in cool views rocky cliffs and beautiful beaches, it has as you can guess, Kangaroos. More Kangaroos than you can hit with one car, which unfortunately is also a sight you must get use too, Roadkill. Dawn and dusk can be a dangerous time to drive due to increased activity in the animals around the island. I have had the chance to feed Roo’s galore but more importantly I’ve gotten close up and personal with my all time favorite animal……. KOALAS!!! I’ll just say …. YIPPY!!!!! And leave it with that.

As a quick closing my “New Trip” resolution is this, I will update at the least on the 1st and 15th of every month, unless otherwise specified. Just to be a little less speratic. We’ll see how long that lasts ahahah…. VROOOOMMMM…..

  1. Unbelievable photos as usual Luke! Totally brings me back, love that Ocean Road!! Did the koalas have minty fresh breath from the eucalyptus?

Happy to hear you are on the move and hope that it’s been a blast so far! Can’t wait to hear how the next leg goes – uncharted territory we haven’t seen!

    Have lots of fun 🙂

  2. HI Luke!
