Rollin Rollin Rollin

So since I last posted things have slowly turned around. It’s been expensive but with all hope should pay off. After sitting around for three weeks searching for work, I thought it was time for a change of scenery. As I was waiting a reply from a few leads, I decided to swing down to Margaret River. 1) For something new 2) To look for work.

After the first day of searching, as expected no work was in sight. So what is one to do? I’m sitting around anyways, might as well go see stuff. Margaret river is known best for the abundance of amazing wineries surrounding the area. Unfortunately, tasting and buying wine cost money. Lucky for me it also has some good scenes of nature.

I had some time out exploring caves, beaches, forests, and even got to see where the Sothern Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. It actually looked like the water moved in different directions. Oh I can’t forget the most gangsta looking cow I will ever lay my eyes on.

After hearing that my leads had fallen through, I gave up on the notion of working near Perth all in all. Time to head north, and north I went. Lovely drive running through small towns, who’s populations would reach a staggering 100 inhabitants. All along the way asking if there was work to be had. At least the wild flowers were a sight to see.

I ended up at my final destination, a city called Carnarvon, known for crop growing climate 9 months of the year. Within two days I was out working on a farm picking zucchini. The work sucks, but it was work. You are in the sun all day hunched over crops that are scratching and cutting you. The worst of it all, the flies.

Slaving away at the land in 30deg heat makes one wonder if its just better to be poor. Ahaha Luckily for me a friend told me of openings for bar jobs in Broome. So naturally I said “Thank you very much” to the farmer and was outta there faster than you could blink an eye. Though I did get a chance to see the blowholes and salt lakebeds in the area before my hasty retreat! So As it stands I’m in Broome waiting to see if work pans out here. Oh the life of a bum……

Oh fun fact for the day: Since September 1st I have spent $806.50 on petrol!
