End of an Era

This morning at 1:30 am, the gloves were finally hung up. Maybe not forever, but for a while. It’s a bitter sweet sensation to leave something that has taken up and supported quite a number of years in my life. This was the last night bartending. Black eyed Peas sing “I got a feeling, Tonights gonna be a good night, tonights gonna be a good good night” and tonight was a good good night. Making pride weekend my last, the good vibe of the crowed will carry me off with a good sense of closure.

It was a call that was tough to make, but as weekends grow more and more valuable to an old  folk like myself, it was finally time to make the call. I can’t lie, the money, booze, and things these eyes have seen, will be greatly missed, as well as the social aspects of the job. Sigh. yay weekends?

Bottems up…..

  1. Ahhhh…. the end of an era… and the beginning of an… uh… nothing. Sorry for you. Guess you got screwed, specially cuz you’ll likely just spend your “extra” weekends sleeping or being bitter. Sucker.
