Dives …. the rest of em……

Dive Day 3: Just a fun dive day! No drills just good ol sink to the bottom and see what you can find. Something special happened today though, ThE SuN CaMe OUt!!! Wowzer Under this sun, 20-30 min under it.. your burnt. Like tssssss owch burnt. lol I’m not one who burns easily, but i’m definitely a little tender.
The Dive’s were relatively peaceful It’s funny the things you see, well more so the names they have for some fish. Lets go over what I saw today: Frogfish, crocodilefish, cowfish, scorpion fish, lion fish, Clown fish (one that nibbled my finger)(hehehehe)<<<(like a little school girl) I mean like thats crazy they are like land animal names. lol Sooo it’ll be ppl names like, bobfish, jonfish, lukefish. That one would be sexy! We are gonna book our night dive for either tonight or tomorrow night, that should be fun and scary! Amazing the life of a dive instructor/master. Live on remote islands, dive all day, play all night. Hrmmmmm….. we’ll see.
So more importantly I’m guessing everyone is wonder… But all this time what are you eating??? Good question, and a good one for that fact. When I was back at KK I was stuffing my face like it was the last thing I could do. Chashou Bao buns, Noodle soup, Fried noodles, duck/chicken/beef/pork on rice, BBQ meats. ohhhh the wonders of it all. Around here It’s whatever they feed you, though I can’t complain. It’s been tuna steak, rice and noodles, pasta, tonight for dinner i’m trying barracuda! We have 3 more days/2 nights here then back to KK for a couple days.
Anywhoo off to check on the thing that will make me shat my panties…..THE NIGHT DIVE!!

This is a two dayer blog fyi:
Dive day 4: Again another fun day. Just hop into the water and go go go! Visited a few places already seen but Still. Every day is a new experience. I guess the most memorable part of the day came with the setting of the sun. Dive No. 4 of the day. We suited up checked our torches and plunged into the black ocean deep. One of the most exciting experiences yet. NIGHT DIVING…. It’s fairly similar to day diving, oh cept that you can’t see anything your torch isn’t on, oh and all the creapy stuff comes out. Oh well I guess it isn’t anything like day diving, Cept that your in the water. ahah This is when half the ocean life goes to sleep and the dark half comes alive. Moray eels start to swim about, Octopus come out in search of food, Predators roam and own the night. dun DUn DUN! Lets list off what we saw, Octopus’s(the coolest thing ever), flamboyant cuttle fish, Jellyfish, shrimp, crab, and even odd things the dive master has never seen, Oh and the BIGGEST TURTLE I HAVE EVER SEEN! No word of a lie shell alone was larger than my mini fridge. wow soo cuuule! Down side to diving at night. Worms. They are attracted to your light and swarm u. They swim/float in the water are about the size of the crap u pull outta shrimp, and are sooooooooooo icky. Gross. All said and done though I didn’t die.

Dive Day 5: Best for last! It is the last day of diving for me for this trip, and the best is for last. Welcome to Sipadan! A small island an hour off Mabul, the island we were staying on. Lets give you a brief lesson on the island. “Sipadan is located at the heart of the Indo-Pacific basin, the centre of one of the richest marine habitats in the world. More than 3,000 species of fish and hundreds of coral species have been classified in this ecosystem.” Thanks wikipedia! You might know it better for this though. “On 23 April 2000, 21 people were kidnapped by the Filipino terrorist group Abu Sayyaf. The armed terrorists arrived by boat and forced 10 tourists and 11 resort workers at gun point to board the vessels and brought the victims to Mindanao. All victims were eventually released.” Thanks wikipedia!
Anywhoo there now is a HUGE military presence on the island and is strictly for diving. Being an exclusive marine park only 120 permits are available per day to dive there. You have to have a permit to dive there.
This place has everything Turtles galore! Sharks, let me tell you looking a shark in the eye as it swims less than an armslenght away from you, in the open ocean….. was kinda creepy! Yet OH SO COOOL! I kept looking behind me to make sure none were creeping up on mee. Barracudas galore, and fish to the point of feeling that its “raining fish”. I could go on and on about how wonderful it is but i won’t because I have to poo.
Sooooo I suppose the most important lesson from this dive trip is realizing that “It’s amazing how many times you can soil yourself in a day. Not because your scared but just cuz you can…. I would say at least 7+ times a day! Fantastic! No wonder the water is so salty.”

  1. that is fucking awesome.. pirate aweseome. it’s that good. I love turtles man, they’re the most awesome things ever, the sea ones with the hilarious fin-arm things lol.

don’t think of it as soiling yourself.. you’re just a part of the eco-system when you do that. it’s the circle of life and mufasa would be proud.

  2. Yo Dude, better make sure one of those worms didn’t swim up inside when you were soiling urself. I hear they like they warmth.
