10 Fingers and 10 Toes

Well so far its almost a week in, I’ve gotten a lay of the land. I have had a chance to sit down with the Instructor and go over things, found an apartment, found some cheap eats, and tested the waters. So I move into the ghetto tomorrow as long as the guy shows up to give me the keys. If not I stand outside with all of my belongings in the dark and try not to get shanked. But hey what can you expect for an $450 studio. Ha .. I was able to do a “shark dive” today. Bull sharks were the name of the game. Though they were very strict on the rules and didn’t let me swim and pet them, I did see them. I still want to get closer for better photos, but another time I guess. Maybe when i’m teaching new students ahaha.

Not my best work but you get the idea.  The visibility wasn’t amazing but there were a handful swimming around. Now I know that I have posted shark photos before, so what makes this different. Though I don’t fear sharks, I do respect their power and ability, this is one of the more prone to attack. Usually in the top three they have: Bull, Tiger, Great White. Bulls mainly because they also can live in fresh water where more people are around so just by numbers have more chance of being attacked. They are naturally more aggressive, people say they have the highest testosterone levels of any animal land or sea. That isn’t fully backed up but on some tests proved true.

Either way they I’m here and alive. Sharks these days, rough and tough as they may seem, are really no where near the bad guys people make them out to be. They are the protectors of the ocean and needed to keep the ocean healthy. They simply just can’t survive the rate in which we are eradicating them. It’s sad to say that your kids may only read about them in books.(and I do mean your kids because I would feed mine to a shark to get a better photo)  They have survived 450 million years and in the last 30 we have almost wiped them out. Don’t support the Fin trade. Thats my PSA for the year!
